Cookies Policy

Last updated: 22 October 2026

This policy explains cookies and similar technologies for www.wigangates.co.uk, operated by Wigan Gates. Read it with our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies do

Cookies are small pieces of information stored by your browser. Similar rules can apply to technologies such as local storage. Some technologies are needed to provide a service you request; optional analytics helps measure website use. Browsing the website or submitting an enquiry is not consent to optional analytics.

2. Current website

Cloudflare Turnstile runs on the contact page as an anti-spam security measure, independently of optional analytics choices. The configured widget has no pre-clearance: this integration does not request a cf_clearance cookie. Turnstile uses browser/device signals and a short-lived, single-use verification token. It is not used here for advertising or analytics. See Cloudflare's privacy information.

We use c15t in browser-only mode to remember your cookie choices. It stores consent preferences, identifiers, timestamps and policy information in a first-party cookie and local storage under the key c15t, with a configured cookie lifetime and choice validity of 180 days. Local storage has no automatic browser expiry and may remain until cleared. This necessary preference storage is not advertising or analytics. There is no consent database or upload to c15t or Inth. Choices are specific to this browser; clearing site data resets them.

There are no account, basket, payment, advertising or social-media tracking cookies in this application. The contact form's submission reference and any private test token are held in the current page's memory, not in cookies or local storage.

Google Analytics 4 (G-19HZNJB15K) loads only after you allow Analytics. No Google analytics script or analytics request is loaded before that choice. Contact-page views are included; our tracking code does not read form fields or send form events. Query strings and fragments are excluded from reported page URLs, and referrers are reduced to their origin. Google receives technical network information, including your IP address, when your browser connects after consent. Advertising signals and advertising personalisation are disabled in our tag configuration.

The site is delivered through Cloudflare. Security features enabled at the delivery layer may use strictly necessary cookies, for example to remember a security challenge. These are separate from Google Analytics. Whether such cookies are set depends on the live security configuration; we will update this notice to identify any that are used when that configuration is confirmed.

3. Google Analytics and your choice

The banner lets you accept, reject optional cookies or open Cookie settings. Optional analytics starts denied for everyone. You can reopen Cookie settings in the footer to change or withdraw your choice. Withdrawal clears accessible first-party Google Analytics cookies and reloads the page without the tracker. It does not delete information already sent to Google. Rejecting analytics will not prevent browsing or sending an enquiry.

Google Analytics may set the following first-party cookies after consent:

CookiePurposeConfigured lifetime
_gaDistinguishes visits using a browser identifier for Google Analytics.180 days; may renew on visits.
_ga_<measurement-ID>Maintains Google Analytics 4 session state.180 days; may renew on visits.

Cookie lifetimes and analytics data retention are different settings. Analytics data retention is controlled in the Google Analytics property; contact us for the current retention settings. Analytics is used to understand visits and improve the site, not for advertising, remarketing or collecting enquiry text or contact details.

4. Managing cookies

You do not need to accept analytics to use this site. Use Cookie settings in the footer to change your locally stored preference. Settings require JavaScript; with JavaScript disabled no analytics is loaded. You can also inspect, block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser's privacy/site-data settings. Deleting storage does not itself withdraw information already sent to a provider; contact us if you wish to exercise data protection rights.

Read Google's cookie information and Cloudflare's cookie information for details about their technologies. Third-party websites linked from our pages apply their own policies.

5. Questions and changes

Contact Wigan Gates at [email protected], 01942 495027, or Unit 7, Park Street, Poolstock, Wigan, WN35HE. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. We will revise this policy when cookie use changes and show the date above. UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations apply where relevant.
